Ian Tearle

Sales Engineer

Arista Networks

Ian was born in England and raised in London. He describes him self as a slightly battered 48 year old who's been doing Wi-Fi for a few years, He likes a whiskey or two, especially with his peers and counterparts, for those are the people that can teach him, and put him right when he gets it wrong...

Ian comes from a mechanical background and when he found networking he thought switching “looks too easy” but was intrigued by Wi-Fi as it seemed clever and a bit magical (a sprinkle of pixie dust, a shaving of unicorn horn, and poof it all works!).

Of course he came to realise that he does need a switch and Wi-Fi isn't magic, so Wi-Fi became his challenge and focus, apart from when he has a whiskey with his colleagues then it becomes "Whiskey & Wi-Fi".
